
So many of us have been there, me included. Eliminate food, symptoms are relieved, then more symptoms raise their head. Then we're back on the eliminating food train. And this cycle repeats itself, over and over again.
Our physical or emotional self is not designed for this cycle. And it will be sure to let us know about it.
There we are thinking "OK I'm sensitive to this so I'll eliminate it", or, "OK, this makes me feel like crap, so I'll eliminate it".
In the health and wellness space see a lot of food elimination when really, it's not the food that is the issue. It's the reason behind why is that food not very well tolerated. There's always a root cause, always.
The mainstream health and wellness industry has a lot to answer for. Probably the biggest misconception, the one I got sucked into, is 'dairy is bad'. It's less of the what, and more of the how. Generally, dairy is not the problem. It's how it was produced. I see a lot of people who struggle with conventional dairy, try raw milk and do just fine. Just remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Steeping out of diet culture is so freeing. Finding food freedom is life changing. Nourishing instead of restricting is healing. Enjoying instead of fearing. It can be a journey to get there but one step forward, is a step in the right direction.
